Welcome to the Edo State Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency. As the leading authority responsible for water supply and sanitation services in small towns and rural areas of Edo State, Nigeria, we are committed to fulfilling our mandate to ensure access to clean and sustainable water sources for all residents. Our responsibilities encompass a range of crucial activities aimed at improving public health, enhancing environmental sustainability, and promoting community development.
We are tasked with planning, designing, and implementing water supply and sanitation infrastructure projects in underserved communities. This includes the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, hand pumps, water treatment plants, distribution networks, and sanitation facilities to provide reliable access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation services.
We strive to build the capacity of local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders involved in water and sanitation management. Through training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, we empower individuals and organizations to take ownership of water and sanitation projects, foster sustainable practices, and promote community resilience.
As the regulatory authority for water supply and sanitation services in Edo State, we are responsible for setting standards, regulations, and guidelines to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of water and sanitation infrastructure and services. We monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and enforce measures to safeguard public health and environmental integrity.
We conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of water supply and sanitation projects to assess their impact, effectiveness, and sustainability. By collecting data, conducting surveys, and engaging with stakeholders, we track progress, identify challenges, and make informed decisions to improve the delivery of services and achieve our goals.
We recognize the importance of engaging communities in the planning, implementation, and management of water and sanitation projects.
