Welcome to the Edo State Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency. We are dedicated to improving water supply and sanitation infrastructure in small towns and rural areas across Edo State, Nigeria.
As part of her mandate, the Agency is saddled with the responsibilities of providing potable water supply and sanitation services within Small Towns and Rural Domains of the State.
The Agency was established in 2017 by legislation to be in charge of supervising the management of all Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation assets in the State in conjunction with the Small Town & Rural Communities under the community management principle and came into full operations on the 18th February 2020.
Our goal is to ensure universal access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities for all residents of Edo State, with a particular emphasis on marginalized communities and vulnerable populations.
To rehabilitate and expand existing water supply systems in small towns and rural areas.
To construct new water infrastructure, including boreholes, hand pumps, and water treatment facilities.
To promote hygiene education and behavior change initiatives to improve sanitation practices and reduce waterborne diseases.
To foster community participation and ownership in water and sanitation projects through capacity building and empowerment programs.
To advocate for policies and investments that prioritize water supply and sanitation in Edo State’s development agenda.
Conducting feasibility studies and needs assessments to identify priority areas for intervention.
Designing and implementing water supply and sanitation projects tailored to the specific needs of communities.
Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of our projects to ensure accountability and transparency.
Engaging in advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns to promote the importance of water and sanitation in public health and sustainable development.
