The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Friday in Benin City, launched the “Clean Nigeria: Use the Toilet” campaign to drive sustainable sanitation and end open defecation across the 18 local government areas of the state by 2025.
Obaseki, who was represented by the Edo Head of Service, Mr. Anthony Okungbowa, said the campaign will raise awareness and get more stakeholders involved in ensuring a serene, cleaner and safer Edo.
The governor noted: “The objective of what we are doing here today is to ensure that Edo people have access to adequate, affordable and sustainable sanitation facilities. Landlords are mandated to provide latrines in their homes, business premises and commercial apartments.
