The main sanitation agency in Edo State is the Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (STRUWASSA). STRUWASSA was established in 2019 by the Edo State government to improve water supply, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions in rural areas of the state.

STRUWASSA’s mandate includes:

• Providing technical assistance to local governments in the implementation of WASH projects
• Building and rehabilitating water supply and sanitation facilities
• Raising awareness about the importance of WASH
• Providing training on hygiene practices
